Graduate Student Intern
Alexa Barrett graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and is a master’s student in Western Carolina University’s Clinical Psychology program. During college, she completed an internship at a state mental hospital where she became fascinated with the intersection of psychology and law. After graduation, she enjoyed administering personality assessments at a community mental health center. Alexa is interested in the association between personality and substance misuse and is currently conducting research on this topic. She is excited for this opportunity to learn from the ACAPS team and hopes to take the knowledge she gains to a doctoral program with an emphasis in forensic psychology. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, swimming, and traveling.
